Gudibande 26th June 2017

Eid Mubark ! Yes 26th the Ramzan day, myself and Bharath my husband decided to take a drive to gudibande fort in Chikkaballapur district .The journey was around 1 hr 45 minutes about 90 kms from our home.We left home around 8.30 AM, an hour late than the decided time.It's ok,lets move.After about 45 minutes our stomach was craving for food hence we stopped at Nandini hotel for lip smacking breakfast.From there we headed to Gudibande with the GPS on.We could reach there by 10.30 AM.

Byre Gowda, a local chieftain of Gudibande built this magnificent fort during the 17th century around 400 years ago. The fort is a paradise for trekkers and nature lovers. Gudibande fort is a multi-level fort said to be built based on the one in Madhugiri. It has an amazing example for water harvesting system, as one can witness various small pools for the storage.The fort has temples, caves and many secret passages, so that during any emergency the soldiers could save themselves by heading through the secret passages. The temples are carved from the huge boulders and rocks.On top of the fort is a Shiva temple.

It was not a hard climb though .Enjoying the breeze with pics around was cool.But there were no one around and quite scary too ! We managed to climb within half an hour.The wind was in it's maximum acceleration.Literally it could carry both of us.The temple was closed unfortunately.Fine, we explored around the hill top with some pics.

Bharath was so very much interested in taking few plants with red flowers in it (Mom confirmed it as zinnia).As and when we started to decent, there were lots of beautiful butterflies.My camera was quite happy to have clicked them.It was quite a hot day.We were back to the base by 12.30 PM.I had also planned for Avalabetta but got to know that climbing to the cliff was banned due to some accident recently.We headed back to Bangalore buying Chakkota(pomelo) , Jambul or Jamun fruit and jackfruit on the way.Reached home at 2 PM after having lunch in the mess near our home.It was quite a tiring but satisfying day :)

Karwar,Goa,Haveri 23rd Dec to 27th Dec

We started from office on 23^rd night by 6 PM.It was a long awaited plan ! We had actually decided to visit Dudhsagar , Dandeli & Goa but we could only make it to Goa since the govt had banned visitors to Dudhsagar and Dandeli.Our journey was filled with dance,songs and funny talks.We landed in Karwar IB on 24rth morning by 6.30 AM.

Myself ,Devu and Darshan(Mayyana Sir’s grandson) got ready early and visited beach right in front of the IB.We had to visit an Island nearby but could not since owner could not be contacted in time.So we had breakfast(upma & avalakki) and went to the beach again with everyone and had some fun playing there...

Then we had a walk towards the fish market.After returning back , we had rest and then had lunch.

By 4.30 we made a visit to karwar Port and then visited beach to have fun .Dinner was done by 8.30 followed by a gud night sleep .

Gud morning to Goa . We all freshened up by 5 AM and left to Goa at 6 AM .It was 3 hrs journey.Our first visit was Saint Francis Xavier Church and then the Archeological museum.

Weather was really hot.Then we went to Baga beach and had a stroll . Later we had bhajjis and sugarcane juice and went to have lunch in a hotel.I had yummy noodles.We had purchased tickets to cruise in the afternoon which was at 5.30 PM.So,we came to a park and took rest till then..

Later we made our way to Cruise ride which had lots of fun like dance,songs,traditional dance etc.

We reached our IB @ 8.30 by having dinner on the way.I had pav bhaji which was really good.

Next day we planned to visit the island but unfortunately we couldn’t manage again.So we decided to visit Utsava rock garden in Haveri .We had our rotti oota in a hotel nearby and moved to Utsava rock garden.

It was quite late so,we again changed our plan and thought of staying in … and leave for Bangalore the next day morning .We visited Kaaginele, the birth place of Sri kanakadasa.We saw his gaddude and a park and finally made our way to Haveri Circuit house for rest.
