The Golden Temple-Amritsar

I had been to Amritsar during 1999.Long back, but i am still able to remember and recollect those experience.It was constructed by Guru Ram Das and was completed by Guru Arjan Dev. He installed the Guru Granth Sahib,the holy literature  of  SikhsTemple is surrounded by water known as sarovara covered by gold.Truly a pleasure to watch ! We are srtictly forced to cover our head with a cloth as it is a practise.Food is served for all the visitors daily. I loved the taste of dal and roti's.Simple yet so tasty. I was also surprised about the cleanliness that they followed in the temple and surroundings.Anyone could serve food,wash plates etc..First time got to know what social service was though had heard about it.Thoroughly enjoyed the food ,atmosphere and the city..Waiting for a chance to visit again.Golden temple has been my favourite temple since then..Amritsar rocks.
